WiN is an organization wholly committed to the advancement of qualified women in the nuclear and radiation professions.
WiN members are men and women working in the nuclear field, who believe that they have a modest but important role to play in ensuring that nuclear energy and its applications remain safe and peaceful.
WiN is a strong advocate of the advancement of qualified women in the nuclear and radiation professions.
Established in 1998, the IAEA Chapter of WiN aims at establishing and maintaining a network for women working at the IAEA and other Vienna International Centre (VIC)-based organizations, enabling them to exchange knowledge and experience towards advancing their role in the nuclear field.
Objectives
Promote the Agency’s objectives “to accelerate and enlarge the contribution of atomic energy to peace, health and prosperity throughout the world.” (IAEA Statute)
Encourage the growth and advancement of qualified women in careers in nuclear science and technology
Affirm that “men and women must participate equally as both agents and beneficiaries of the Agency’s programmes.” (IAEA Gender Equality Policy)
Cultivate and mentor the future nuclear workforce
Establish and maintain cooperation to ensure that the Agency and other Vienna-based organisations remain committed to espousing gender equality and to encourage them to reflect this commitment in their programmes and activities
