We are proud to share that, as part of our commitment to supporting our members in advancing their careers and professional growth, WiN IAEA and the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) co-organized a three-day pilot workshop on career advancement and professional in the beautiful premises of ICTP in Trieste, Italy, in May 2026.

The workshop brought together participants from different countries and diverse professional backgrounds, creating a vibrant and interactive environment to explore leadership, the role of professional networks, and the value of mentoring.

Drawing on the experience and insights of an executive and leadership coach, as well as nuclear leadership experts and senior IAEA managers, participants gained practical tools and valuable perspectives to support their professional growth and further develop their leadership skills.

The programme focused not only on self-awareness, resilience and network-building, but also on group work and the exchange of knowledge and experiences across diverse professional contexts and environments.

For those who were unable to join, here are a few key takeaways:
🔹 Growth begins with self-awareness. -> Take risks and step outside your comfort zone.
🔹 Great leaders know how to manage, inspire, and support their people and teams. -> Remember: your team is your strongest asset.
🔹 Strong leaders build resilient organizations that last. -> Choose the right people to lead and empower others to succeed.
🔹 Networks and communities matter. -> Invest time in building and nurturing them.

We are grateful to our hosts at ICTP for supporting this new partnership, and would like to extend our sincere thanks to all the speakers and participants for their engagement, openness and contributions throughout the workshop.
