The IAEA Department of Technical Cooperation, Division for Africa, organized a virtual event on 3 June 2022 for Member States in Africa titled “Women in Nuclear (WiN) in Africa: Networking, vision to enhance gender equity”. The purpose of the event was to discuss the opportunities for establishing new WiN chapters in Africa. The opening session included statements by the Director of the Division for Africa, Gabi Voigt for WiN Global, Janette Donner for WiN IAEA and Soheir Korraa of WiN Africa. This was followed by interactive sessions for some of the established chapters to introduce the best practices and lessons learned. The chapters under establishment also updated on the progress of the process. The webinar was finalized by a plenary discussion included several NLOs from Africa.
